A very big thank you to the Thursday Golf and Curry Club in Rainham, who have raised £400 from a football prediction league that got cut short due to Covid-19. Instead of distributing the money back between themselves, they unanimously decided to donate the money to a charity. The Thursday Golf and Curry Club meet weekly in Rainham, but play golf at many different courses across Kent and belong to different golf clubs, as they like to vary the courses.
Leigh Govey, a member of the club, suggested donating the money to The Kent Autistic Trust, because they wanted to support a charity that was local to them and all club members agreed!!
Leigh said ‘some of these guys have known each other since school and have been meeting on a Thursday for golf, curry and a quiz for over 40 years!! Some of their sons have now also joined the group, which is so lovely to see!! We hope the funds we have donated will help support The Kent Autistic Trust and their Family Support service, as much as possible during very difficult times’.
