Congratulations to our winners and finalist for the Autism Hero Awards, which took place at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London on Saturday, 11th June.
Lisa Jones, Manager at Butlers Park Way, achieved finalist for the Parent / Carer of the Year Award ‘presented to a parent or carer that has exceeded expectations’ Lisa has represented all those care heroes in the Trust whose dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed!
Our Family Support Service were winners of the Online Social Network Award ‘presented to a group or organisation that uses an online social network for people with Autism and their families; to give opportunities for people to meet others, make friends and find support within the Autism community’.
This award is so well deserved given that our Family Support Officers; Emilymay Miles and Wendy Boorman are making a big difference to over 5000 autistic people and their families in Kent each year. The service is free and the costs of running this busy team are entirely funded by grants and donations!
