Furley Page staff choose The Kent Autistic Trust as 2020 Charity of the Year

The Kent Autistic Trust has been chosen as Furley Page’s charity of the year by the law firm’s staff.

Throughout the year, Furley Page’s staff will take part in a range of fund-raising activities, including bake sales and sponsored endurance and sporting events, with all proceeds being donated to The Kent Autistic Trust. Last year, Furley Page raised £5,000 for the firm’s previous charity of the year.

The fundraising activities are coordinated by the Furley Page Foundation, a Charitable Trust which manages the law firm’s social responsibility programmes and works for the benefit of people across Kent. Each year the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, made up of Partners and elected staff representatives, decide how funds raised will be distributed and staff nominate a main charity which is supported by fund-raising activities.

Furley Page Partner, Nicola August, sits on the Furley Page Foundation’s Board and is a joint Chair of The Kent Autistic Trust. She said: “We are proud of all our staff members who give up their time to raise money for worthy causes such as The Kent Autistic Trust, which provides specialist services for young people and adults with autism.”

Christine Edwards, CEO of The Kent Autistic Trust, said: “We are humbled and grateful that Furley Page’s staff have chosen us as their Charity of the Year for 2020. This support will make a real difference to our awareness campaigns and the work we do with so many families and people on the autistic spectrum.”

“Our Family support information service is a lifeline for over 5,000 people each year across Kent and Medway and this service is solely reliant on grants and donations.”
