Our thanks to Jake Burgess from Sheppey, who took on the very brave challenge of spending a month eating WW2 rations, to raise funds for The Kent Autistic Trust and has raised a huge £145.

His mum Julie said ‘we are part of WW2 group and Jake had decided he was going to take on the challenge to coincide with VE Day. I cooked all of his meals from the allowance of rations for each week. He complained for a couple days that the food tasted different, probably due to less fat and sugar, also no eggs in lot of the recipes. She said, the plus side is my food bill dropped from £80 to £35!! Jake is Autistic, which is why he chose the Trust and I am very proud of him’.

Well done Jake and thank you for all your efforts to raise funds and support us
