Kellie Barker at Born Anxious, a regular donor and huge support to The Kent Autistic Trust, has yet again turned her hand to help support The Kent Autistic Trust. Born Anxious have kindly offered to fund the making of 1,000 colourful face covers for the adults we support and has also introduced us to Katie Clark, who has very kindly offered to make the 1,000 masks!! A big thank you to you both from us all at The Kent Autistic Trust.
These will be used as PPE covers, to enable us to prepare those we support for when they are able to access the community.
Many people with Autism associate face masks with medical processes and procedures which are both scary and unpredictable. Therefore staff feel this will be a good way of showing people that masks aren’t always about dentists and hospitals. We have chosen a variety of patterns such as Star Wars, football, bright colours, music etc. so that we engage with individuals using something that interests them.
