Sensei John Farenden has launched Karate classes for Autistic children aged 8-12/13 years to not only help fitness, discipline, confidence and focus, but also to help raise funds and awareness for The Kent Autistic Trust.
John is a Shotokan Karate Instructor 6th Dan, has over 40 years experience within the art of karate. He will be holding one class once per week on a Thursday from 5pm to 6.15pm in Dover for children with Autism from 8 to 12/13 years of age.
John and his wife will be footing the cost of the hall hire as their contribution and all funds raised from the classes will be donated to the Trust.
John said 'I have Autism in the family and I find that a lot of the time Autistic people are unfortunately alienated and misunderstood in a lot of things. By doing Shotokan Karate it will certainly help in coordination, focus, fitness and all round well being, this is a no profit for me neither do I want it, its something I wish to do to help not only the children that attend the classes, but to support The Kent Autistic Trust in raising funds and awareness'.
