At 8pm last night, The Kent Autistic Trust along with millions of others across the whole of the UK, joined together from the safety of their homes, in last nights "Clap for Carers" tribute, saluting NHS staff and care workers dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
People stood at their front doors and open windows, in gardens and on balconies, to raise a thunder of gratitude for those working on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus.
Several landmarks across the county also lit up to show their support, including Rochester Cathedral and the clock tower in Herne Bay.
A message from the NHS on social media described the tribute as "emotional".
It was incredible to see the whole country come together in such a wonderful way to show their thanks.
We clapped to thank our support workers and staff too, who are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe, thank you for all you are doing to enable us to continue to provide outstanding care during these challenging times.
