What a great visit from Cllr Diane Morton and Cllr Mark Mulvihill from KCC to our Woodville specialist day resource centre in Canterbury, who showed a real passion for specialist day services and appreciated the big difference and impact it makes to autistic people with complex needs and their families. People we support, parent and staff joined the visit to talk about the real difference this bespoke service makes!

We’re celebrating a brilliant milestone for James! He’s been steadily building his confidence with PECS (a picture‑based way of communicating), and last week he used a picture to let staff know exactly what he wanted. Such a huge step in his communication journey! James has worked so hard alongside the team, and we couldn’t be prouder of him.

We’re so proud of John, who has just signed up for the Foodwise ASDA course. He’s eager to learn more about healthy foods and how good nutrition can support everyday wellbeing. Well done, John!

Exciting changes for Megan! She has really enjoyed looking through all the carpet samples and choosing which colour she liked the best. We can’t wait to see how her room looks once it’s finished!

This week Matthew has absolutely shined! Working incredibly hard on taking responsibility for his actions, even when things felt really challenging, he used his new coping strategies, shared how he was feeling, and reminded himself, “One step at a time, I can do it!” He’s come so far - building confidence, self-esteem, and the skills to manage difficult situations more independently. Matthew has had a challenging year, but he’s made amazing progress since moving into his new supported living service. For the last four weeks he’s achieved all his weekend goals and proudly earned his big Milky Bar each time — and he’s already aiming for week five! This routine has helped him refocus and build trust, with everyone working together and keeping Matthew at the centre of every decision. His “I CAN DO IT!” photo says it all. We had such a lovely day out in London following the Snoopy in the City trail! With a train journey spotting St Paul’s Cathedral and tracking down all 12 Snoopy sculptures, everyone had such a great time… and we were definitely ready for a rest and a hot cup of tea after such a busy day!
