Important information about our Autism Alert Cards - new applications 2020

*Please note: We are in the process of redesigning our Autism Alert Cards for 2020, due to this any applications that we receive in the interim, will be processed at the time of release.

If however, you require one immediately please note this on the application form and we will send you the current card design.

Autism Alert Cards are designed to enable those who carry it to identify themselves as having an Autism Spectrum Disorder and to alert the emergency services and other services when required.

The card highlights how the bearer may have difficulties in talking and listening and may show signs of unusual behaviour.

This will alert the emergency services that the card holder may have difficulty communicating and may appear anxious in unfamiliar surroundings or exhibit behaviour which, to the unaware, may seem strange and could be misinterpreted.

It also includes a named contact, who can offer their support to help police, ambulance, fire service and other key public service professionals better understand the individual’s autism needs. The card is likely to be of most benefit to those who access the community independently but could be helpful for those who usually have the support of a carer or parent particularly if they were lost. It is available to all ages.

These cards are only available to people with a formal diagnosis.
